What should I expect during the investigation for my Thai wife extension?

Question

Today went for my extension and got

Thai wife extension under investigation stamped.

Must come back on 16 may, we are married since feb 2011 and my wife stayed with me for many years in Germany.

What can I expect from immigration?

Thx

The user is undergoing a Thai wife extension for their visa, which is currently marked as "under investigation" until May 16th. The conversation reveals that this is a common scenario where the immigration officers may conduct a house visit to verify the marriage status, talk to neighbors, and take necessary pictures. Replies indicate that this process is often friendly and relaxed, with emphasis on being prepared for possible short-notice inspections. Experiences shared suggest that while it may seem concerning, it's typically a routine procedure, and many users have reported a smooth experience.

Normal procedure.

You’re not under investigation you are under consideration during that time the immigration officers will probably come and visit your house. They may talk to your neighbors. They may take photos of you and your wife at your house. It happens every year on your Ext if you are married to s Thai

They called me about 2 hours before the visit because that’s how long their drive was. They just talked to us and neighbors as well my mother in law. Hilariously she got most of questions they asked wrong. In the end they didn’t care. We were all laughing about it.

They visit your home👌

As people have already said it friendly and relaxed. Immigration police gave us notice of their visit, a really nice fellow, hardly said a word to me.

Spoke to the boss lady, and our friend, took some pictures of us all (including himself).

Back 6th May for the extension stamp.

Usually a house visit with very short notice, basically we are 10 minutes away make sure you are in

Most people

"under consideration" is just processing time for the set of documents sent away.

You will be fine, it's just a formality.

If they require an inspections it is quik and painless.

Did you take all the necessary pictures and address and map to your house. My first time they told me the police would be out to verify and talk to neighbors. Sucks having to rely on them for your outcome. I hope you been nice to them LoL. The 2 police that came to my house were super cool and offered to have drinks when I was in the city. If they don't do anything don't worry just show on 16th and imagine everything will be fine. Not everyone gets inspection but they did tell me in advance on mine

Stuart ********* · Answer

You may get a call to organise a house inspection/visit neighbours to check. They may do it by line or WhatsApp. Go back on 16th May and get the rest of the year extension.
