Hi everyone! I arrived in Chiang Mai last night from Manila. It was my third entry on remote worker DTV, but my first in Chiang Mai. As with the previous two times, everything went smoothly: no questions, fingerprints, and it was all done in 30 seconds. I had read about some complicated experiences in Chiang Mai before, but I can't confirm any of that from my own experience. Don't worry!

What did give me a headache, however, was check-in in the Philippines / Boracay. The airline (Cebu Pacific) was still very inexperienced with DTV and treated me like a typical tourist. I was asked about my professional background, and they demanded proof of accommodation and a return ticket. I had all the application documents with me, and my rental agreement matched with the TDAC. But it took quite a bit of discussion before I was finally allowed to begin my journey, even without a return ticket. So if you fly-in from Philippines - be aware: some unwanted questions could show up😉

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post shares the author's smooth experience entering Chiang Mai from Manila on a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) after two previous entries. They briefly mention complications during check-in at Boracay due to the airline's unfamiliarity with the DTV, which required them to prove accommodation and profession. They advise future travelers from the Philippines to be prepared for possible scrutiny at check-in, while comments from others support the ease of entry into Chiang Mai.

All the anonymous stories are nonsense. Chiang Mai is one of the easiest international airports to enter, especially with the DTV, because the IO staff are super efficient.

I flew in from Hong Kong on Emirates and the check-in guy had never seen DTV, but was very impressed with my A6 laminated document. He thought that's how Thailand issue them 🤣
