TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has encountered difficulties in booking an appointment for a DTV visa in Ho Chi Minh City due to a lack of available slots. Comments indicate that the shortage of appointments is likely because the consulate is shifting to an eVisa system in October, causing many applicants to seek in-person appointments before the transition. Alternatives mentioned include checking for appointments in Hanoi or Vientiane.

They have told me they are moving to Evisa in October and so there are no more online appointments. I have talked about this a few times in the group. Hanoi as far as I know still have appointments but right now you will not be able to do it in HCMC until they announce the Evisa process.

There is not ๐Ÿ™ it means that there are no openings..

It's not a walk up consulate, you need an appt to get in to apply.

I think the reason they are booked up is that they will transition over to the eVisa online system in Oct some time.

Everyone wanted to go IN PERSON before that happened to apply
