What was the experience and timeline for getting a DTV visa in Ho Chi Minh City?

Approved! 🇹🇭 DTV Visa in HCMC My Timeline & Experience

Super happy to share that my DTV visa has officially been approved!

here is how my journey went:

📅 May 31: Submitted my online application and paid

📅 June 9: (1st Document Request): The embassy asked for quite a comprehensive list of additional documents:

- Current Location (selfie taken at a tourist attraction)

- Proof Full passport scan.

- Financial Proof 6-month English bank statement with a >500k THB balance (strictly personal/savings accounts only, no crypto/investments)

- Taxes & Professional Proof: 2 years of income tax records.

- CV/Portfolio with work examples, and a detailed Company Profile.

📅 June 10: Submitted all the requested documents for the first round.

📅 June 11 (2nd Document Request): The embassy followed up asking for:

1. Employment Contract in original language + certified English translation.

2. Income Tax Certificates (2023-2025): Original language + certified English translation.

💡 Note: I wrote them the Letter of Explanation in the German tax system that the German system already has withholding tax through payroll.

Therefore, regular salaried employees do not need to file an additional annual tax return (a tax return form is not required)

📅 June 13: Submitted the second round of documents along with the explanation letter.

📅 June 16: 11.30 am 🎉 APPROVED!
