Hi guys. Applied for a Visa on may 9th but I’m suppose to arrive in Thailand on may 31. Gonna be there by the 31st. Any advice on what I should do if I don’t get my tourist visa on time? Will be there for 55 days.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about potentially not receiving their tourist visa before arriving in Thailand on May 31st, despite applying on May 9th. Comments from other users suggest possible solutions, such as entering Thailand visa-exempt for 30 days, which can be extended locally, and the possibility of receiving the visa on time. The user later updates that additional documents were required and seeks advice on what to tell the immigration officer if they arrive without the visa.

Thanks for the replies everyone! So they required additional documents and I just got an email for pending approval today. I’m suppose to arrive on the 31st. So looks like I might not have it in time. Any advice on what I should tell the immigration officer? 😅

Depends on the embassy/consulate you used but some take around 15 days or more. You probably will get it on time, however if not you can come exempt assuming your passport allows. Where the hang up may be is your airline. They may insist on a ticket out within the initial days allowed.

Either go by visa exempt 30 days or don't go at all. What's the big deal? It's only Thailand. 😆

That's 22 days away. You'll have it time don't worry

If your visa doesn't arrive just enter visa exempt for 30 days and apply for the 30 day extension at the local immigration office.
