What should I do if my Thai tourist visa application is delayed and I need to enter Thailand with a 30-day visa instead?

Question for any Australians who have had delay issues with obtaining their 60day tourisr visa.

My application still shows pending document check, I attended the consulate in sydney and was told theres not much that can be done and they copied down my application number and said they will try and escalate.

My questions are if I dont obtain the visa in time and the work around is to go in on the 30 day visa and then get immigration extended another 30 days with tm30 requirement filled out etc

1. On the thailand arrival card do you set your return date within the 30 days visa free period or do I put it down as my actual return date (ill be there 6 weeks)

2.anyone who has flown jetstar, are they fine if I have a single outbound flight to show im leaving Thailand within the 30 days (because the original flight details will still have my return flight date end of 6 weeks)

There was others in the consulate who had same issue and were asking for help so hopefully i receive the 60day visa before my flight as this seems the general consensus with it being approved closer to your departure date.
