UPDATE - APPROVED

Received email approval notification SUNDAY EVENING - 12th July 2026.

Pending Approval - Approval was 4 working days, felt like an eternity though 🤣

Pending Approval 

My husband (primary DTV) holder was approved under 2 weeks. Approval was granted end of May. 

I submitted mine and our 2 children nearly 4 weeks ago. (10th June) 

Mine went to “PENDING APPROVAL” 2 weeks ago (24th June), children’s required additional documents on same day, which we supplied immediately (24th June) 

As of 7th July, all 3 of us are at PENDING APPROVAL. 

I somehow thought the dependent DTV process would be shorter as the primary has already been approved. 

Has anyone had any experience with length time on “Pending Approval”? 

Submitted through Sydney Thai Consulate.

I just applied for my two kids and my partner. If you don’t mind me asking what other additional documents did they require for the kids just so am prepared as well ? Hopefully it’s not a long process for us .

It was for the financial side of things - we submitted a “financial dependency letter” which they happily accepted, but they wanted our bank statements aswell attached to it

Many consulates reset the clock to zero when you supply further documents

Yes, when we submitted the documents it went back to 10 days I suppose, but it has since been moved to “pending approval” so I wonder if the clock can re set to 10 days from then too.

I applied for delivery in Hanoi, Vietnam on June 23, and it entered the pending approval stage on June 25, but I haven't heard anything since.😥😥😥

We have 500k baht per adult - but not for the kids. Have a letter for the kids. According to the Sydney Consualte that is enough. It’s pending approval, so hopefully they have accepted the documents

I've heard that many applications get approved just before your intended flight date (ie the day before your flight) seems harsh and I'm not sure how true it is. Whats your flight date?

i thought you needed a ticket for the initial application - but this is only what I've heard, I haven't applied myself yet, so dont know for sure!!

We haven’t booked a flight yet. Were going too, but didn’t want to just incase of ……..this haha

yeah ok. Ive just seen in other threads people saying their applications only got approved right before their flight date, which was indicated on the application. So if you haven't booked a flight, this reasoning cant apply to you 🤷🏻‍♀️
