What should I do if my landlord is delayed in submitting my TM30 but I need to file my 90-day report soon?

My landlord (not tech savvy) is in a different province, and says she will do my TM30... in 3 weeks.

I need to do my 90-day report in 2 weeks. What can I do?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is facing an issue with their landlord, who is in a different province and unable to complete the TM30 form necessary for the user's 90-day report in a timely manner. The community suggests various solutions: checking into a hotel temporarily to obtain a TM30, filing the report in person with a lease document, asking the landlord for account access to complete the TM30 online, or if necessary, advising the landlord about the urgency to complete the form to avoid penalties.

Advise them that you need this to be done in two weeks as you won't be able to stay in the country otherwise, ask if there is anyone that can help them do the form so it's filled in quicker ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Why is it? You will get charged for an over stay otherwise

Just get her to send all her docs to you and lodge it yourself. Plenty of tech savy places she can go to, in any province. ;)

Ask your landlord to pass you the userid and password, and you can login to the TM30 immigration system to do it yourself.

. Perhaps you could go and check into a cheap hotel for a day, get a copy of the TM30 from the hotel and use that to do your 90 day report?

I mean reality is that they need to get it done or they'll be paying fines.

she was tech savvy enough to send a rental contract and collect the rent.

So tech savvy enough to make an account

Go try to do it in person with your lease. You don't have much options really, I mean if the immigration office says you have to have a TM30 to do a 90 day report you're stuck.

Seeing as you can file a 90 day report in person from 2 weeks before down until 1 week AFTER the actual due date.

Maybe your land lord will be back in time for you to get the TM30 filed and do the 90 day report late. As long as it's not more than 7 days late you won't be fined (you said it's due in two weeks and they'll be back in three ๐Ÿ™‚ )

I'll have 2 days to file my 90-day report, once she get back, however, won't the TM30 being done a month late raise red flags for immigration?

Landlord is in a different province. Apparently, having copies of tabian and ID card would work, but these need to be signed (signature can't be printed, from what I understand).

If I can do it two weeks in advance, that means I can file my 90-day report next week. Would a 1-day stay at cheap place, asking the counter for a copy of my TM30, and then straight to immigration for the 90-day report work?

not really. You could have just returned home from another province and stayed at a hotel there, so you had a new TM30 filed for when you returned home just to be safe. There isn't really a past for TM30. Every TM30 that's filed is now your only one and negates everything from the past. And you can't even get proof of a TM30 from the online system if it's been 7 days since it was filed. The only way to get proof after that is to do a new one. People get new TM30 all the time for many reasons. The only thing the immigration office should care about is that you have one.

hotels have 24 hours to file your TM 30 so one day may not be enough....

Also for the initial Visa (or first extension) don't we need to see the rental contract for the place you registering it? Sorry if this isn't applicable.

he can do it him self.. doesn't have to be the landlord.

@Gerry *****
don't you need to sign the copy of the House book of owner to do TM 30?
