What should we do if my spouse's DTV visa isn't approved before our Vietnam visa expires?

I applied for a DTV in Ho Chi Minh city. Got approved after 16 days as there were holidays. After I got my approval, my spouse applied for it. Now, the visa hasn't been approved yet and our Vietnam visa is expiring in a few days. What should we do if my spouse didn't get the DTV visa before the Vietnam visa expires.

Depends on what type of visa or extension you're on..some can't be extended and you have to leave the country and come back.

Get a visa agent there and have them help you extend.

Fly to Phu Quoc and enjoy some time there. No visa needed.

There’s two ways. You can extend the visa by crossing to Laos (But I was staying in Da Nang). There are Vietnam visa agents that provide service for that which only costs like 1500 bahts including the travel cost. I had the similar problem like you so I went to Thailand on Saturday and went back to Vietnam on Sunday so I can get another 1 month in Vietnam. Good luck.

Keep faith, my dtv in Hanoi has been approved in 3 days. In worst scenario, 1-2 days before visa expire, I’d recommend to go there with your wife at the hcm embassy at 8am and try explain your case.

self employed with my own company. But it doesn’t matter too much. Not much difference made by embassies if you use one or another. Just show you have regular revenue from the outside, I also showed happy me in selfie mode at the airport in Hanoi. It’s a human that will validate your application
