What should I do if mandatory fields are greyed out while completing the TDAC application for Thailand?

Hello everyone,

For two days now, I have attempted to complete the TDAC (Official Immigration website) both on my iPhone and laptop.

All mandatory fields in the Accommodation section are greyed out and as such won’t let me complete them.

The application however, lets me progress to the Submit stage.

Has anyone else experienced this and if so, how did you resolve it?

Many thanks,

Annie

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is facing problems filling out the TDAC form, particularly with mandatory fields greyed out, preventing completion. Various commenters share their experiences and solutions, including tips on filling out the form correctly within 72 hours of arrival, avoiding mandatory fields that aren't necessary, and suggestions to clear browser cache and use different devices. Some members mention that they submitted successfully despite the greyed-out sections, suggesting that it might work regardless of those fields.
Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)

WARNING: Only trust Thai government websites with .go.th domains or Thai agent websites with .co.th or .in.th domains, as these require verified Thai registration and cannot be registered anonymously.

The official TDAC form is available at tdac.immigration.go.th, which uses the official .go.th government domain.

The services by AGENTS CO., LTD. does NOT charge any fees for arrivals within 72 hours. If you need to book more than 72 hours in advance, there is a service fee of $8.

Do not trust other sites pretending to be a trustworthy agency. Pay attention to delivery time - the service operated by AGENTS CO., LTD. has 1 minute delivery time for arrivals within 72 hours.

Don't fall for sites pretending to be agents.co.th or the official government tdac.immigration.go.th website. Always double-check the exact domain in your browser.

Scam services may take days to process your application, others may not even do anything. With these TDAC scam services you also need to worry about double charges.

Please watch out for TDAC misinformation spread by fugitive Jesse Nickles and his many fake accounts on Quora, TripAdvisor, Reddit, and other platforms.

Please remember, the 72 hours is counted from the time you land in thailand. Not when you board the aeroplane.

It's because you are incorrectly filling out "date of departure."

You are putting a date that is too close to the arrival date you put. This question is asking when you plan to leave Thailand, and it's not even a mandatory question. Do not put ANYTHING in departure information. Once you start filling it out, it becomes mandatory. Leave it all blank, and the address boxes will remain able to be filled out once you enter arrival information.

Frangipani Annie, have you tried clearing the form and starting again? Can you try on a different device? If so and you can't complete it before flying out, you can fill it in once landed in Thailand. There's a place at the Thai airport before reaching Immigration Control. Find it before joining queue, otherwise you may find yourself getting close to Immigration & then having to go back to do the form and then join the queue to Immigration again.

Clear browser cache and cookies on laptop and phone and on phone make sure to get rid of any open apps instead of your browser then try again in PRIVATE tab. Should work as I’ve flown in and and out of Thailand many times and had no issues with TDAC. Worst case scenario just use the kiosk

I had the same issue when we came Jan 1, I had a hard time completing the form, it was so frustrating! But I managed to resolve it by clearing my browser cache and cookies, maybe that'll work for you? Also, waited until our stopover in Doha & completed with no problem.

72 hrs can be problematic some time with TDAC depending where you are. Better doing it at 48 hrs.

After going to saigon for 5 days I filled out TDAC 72 HRS before returning back to Thailand ..when I came to the part to give my hotel address I could not do it ..I tried several times same result..in the end I by-pass hotel information and went to continue....all my data was excepted and 5 min later I got my approval..I think if you go out of Thailand for a few days and come back they think you are coming back to the same hotel /accommodation..same happened to friends..I could be wrong

John Molloy you say you filled out TDAC 72 HRS before returning back... Do you really mean earlier than 72 hours before? The site won't work until there are less than 72 hours before you travel. 71 hours ok, 73 hours no good.

100% agree. I was just commenting on JM’s post.

It’s just that I would rather complete the entire form (including mandatory fields) rather than having to queue up and redo everything again upon arrival…

Frangipani Annie I don’t bother filling out the parts that aren’t mandatory just because it’s less to do. I’m doing these too often! I find they can be quite fiddly sometimes for no apparent reason.

Frangipani Annie very rude response to someone trying to help. So you were leaving in 2 days as of this post, but you had been trying to complete the TDAC for 2 days, which would put you outside of 72 hours. SMH.

Frangipani Annie "trying for 2 days" plus "day after tomorrow" sounds like 96 hours. You can fill it in after you arrive, before immigration. It's just an arrival card.
