Sorry if its been asked loads before but here is my story/ and 2 questions.

Photo to grab your attention.

I am an around the world adventure bike rider.

I had been in and out of Thailand 4 times over the last 8 months (I am a genuine traveler not doing border runs), but due to all the "confusion and changes" I decided to get the 6 month multiple entry visa that allows upto 60+30 leave and 60+7. I am currently in Malaysia having a look around so it made sense. I applied on the 5th of December and paid the $145. I got 4 different e mails requesting a load of extra information which I gave. The last comunicación I had was 4 days ago and now nothing. I am a uk passport holder .

My first question is, has any one been in the same position and how long did you have to wait.

And the 2nd question.

On my travels I intend to go in and out of Thailand 3 more times over the next 4 months having a look around southeast asia.

I am aware of all the border closures and the current issues with the Thai neighbours

Is it worth me just getting a TDAC and try riding over with my motorbike at a land border. Current on a Malaysian bike. Will this affect my application for the multiple entry visa.

I also get Christmas is next week but that's why I want to go back to thailand to spend it with good friends from the UK

Thanks for your help

Dave

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is a UK passport holder who has applied for a 6-month multiple entry visa to Thailand. After submitting the application, they are awaiting approval and are concerned about the processing time and the impact of potential border crossings on their visa application. The community responds with insights into visa rules, the TDAC arrival card, and experiences related to motorcycle travel into Thailand.
Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)

WARNING: Only trust Thai government websites with .go.th domains or Thai agent websites with .co.th or .in.th domains, as these require verified Thai registration and cannot be registered anonymously.

The official TDAC form is available at tdac.immigration.go.th, which uses the official .go.th government domain.

The services by AGENTS CO., LTD. does NOT charge any fees for arrivals within 72 hours. If you need to book more than 72 hours in advance, there is a service fee of $8.

Do not trust other sites pretending to be a trustworthy agency. Pay attention to delivery time - the service operated by AGENTS CO., LTD. has 1 minute delivery time for arrivals within 72 hours.

Don't fall for sites pretending to be agents.co.th or the official government tdac.immigration.go.th website. Always double-check the exact domain in your browser.

Scam services may take days to process your application, others may not even do anything. With these TDAC scam services you also need to worry about double charges.

Please watch out for TDAC misinformation spread by fugitive Jesse Nickles and his many fake accounts on Quora, TripAdvisor, Reddit, and other platforms.

You are definitely a test case and quite unique situation. In those 4 trips so far what is the total days you spent in Thailand and were they all motorbike entries and exits? The multiple entry visa will give you 60 days each time you enter and each entry is extendable by 30 days. So you can get 3 x 60 days if you are smart at it. The visa exempt 60 +30 and 60 + 7 are not the same treatment. If you visa is not approved by the time you need to enter, then you could try to do the border entry with motorbike but you could toss a coin on whether it will work. It should not effect your application but you have to leave to activate it. So worth telling them if you do come in that your are only coming for Xmas and new year and will leave in 2 weeks. That might work

you have a good chance of getting another visa exempt if METV fails to appear in time. An IO will ask you how long you plan to stay first. So if you have some evidence you will only be in thailand a few weeks. Get ready to show it. Might even be worth saying that you applied for METV and it did not come through in time and you want to meet friend over xmas new year. Truth might be a good option. I have in the past done up to 10 visa exempt border crossings in a year. I got asked i was staying for 7 days mostly. I have never been turned away. Bottom line is i was not staying in Thailand long term.

From what I know Thailand will ask a fairly hefty bond , making sure you leave with same bike you came in on.

For motorcycle stuff better ask in this group. But guessing when you enter by road it will ask for the plate number (same as malaysia and singapore) there are other things to do with insurance and stuff as well but check with this group for latest info on that

TDAC is an arrival card, not a visa.

There’s no any extension limitation for actual visa
