What should I do if I need to postpone or cancel my tourist visa for Thailand?

Hey everyone. I just got a tourist visa in my home country.

I have a roundtrip flight ticket which I presented when I applied.

However, I have some issues at home and might need to postpone my trip. I might even have cancel.

My questions are:

1. If I postpone, do I need to inform the embassy? send them the new flight tickets? Or as long as the visa is valid (before its expiration date), it doesn't matter when i fly?

1. If I end up canceling the trip all together, and want to travel to thailand in a few months, will I have issues getting a new TR visa? (since I recieved one and did not enter..) Or will I have issues entering on visa exempt?

Thank you so much!

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you need to postpone your trip after receiving your Thai tourist visa, you do not need to inform the embassy or submit new flight tickets, as long as you enter before your visa expires. If you cancel your trip completely, you can still apply for a new tourist visa later without any issues. It's common for travelers to change their plans, and the authorities typically do not penalize you for not using a previously issued visa.

Once you have your visa it’s irrelevant how you wing your way to Thailand or what port of entry you actually use. Enter before it expires and you get 60 days.

No issue buying another visa if need be. They’re used to people having to change plans at the last minute, so won’t penalise you for not actually using a previous visa.

You can use the tourist visa during the stated validity for up to 3 months from the date it was issued by the Thai Embassy or Consulate.

YOUR flight information is no longer needed once the visa has been issued.

NO problem for you to apply for and obtain a new tourist visa.

No one cares/checks about your ticket dates. Fly in before the expiration date and get your 60 days stamped.
