What should I do if I mistakenly indicated a 9-month stay for a Thai visa instead of the maximum of 180 days?

I submitted all the documents to Laos, for soft power dtv. However the muay thai training will be 9 months, so I put the 9 months as intended stay, worried they might think it's weird to sign up for 9 months and intend to stay for only 180 days if you can extend one time for another 180 days. But now I am reading that you should put max 180 days for intended stay. What can I do to fix this?
