I applied in Nepal embassy monday 17th.. application status went to “processing, pending approval” same day..
it is now 20th Thursday.
I have my fingers crossed- I see for some people it’s taken a few days and for others it’s been a few weeks..
Soft power application - I hope it all goes well 😮💨

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shared their experience of applying for a Thai visa at the Nepalese embassy, noting that their application was in 'processing, pending approval' just after submission. They expressed concern about varying approval times reported by others, which ranged from a few days to weeks. Comments from the community highlighted that the processing in Nepal can take around 10 business days and mentioned the role of VFS in processing visas, along with a personal anecdote about visiting their office.
I visited Kathmandu recently and was told that VFS were the people processing the visas. I went to their offices in Thamel but they were closed but they had a whole floor of this new mall dedicated to visas for Thailand. Did you deal with them at all ?
MotivatedParrot6489 interesting, i was told to use VFS and I dislike this company. They have a huge visa processing center in Thamel I visited. I really wanna go hack there to fo my DTV application but that put me off.
Nepal takes around 10 business days. It is not as fast as other embassies. You have not received any request for new documents so that's a good sign. Hopefully you get approved soon. 🤞
MotivatedParrot6489 It Is a great sign 👍.They will ask basic questions on your job, reasons for going to Thailand etc. Be prepared to show your bank balance 50OK on your phone .
I can definitely show bank balances - for job I wrote investments and the name of bank I invest with which I can also show - and reason for Thailand I wouldn’t know what to say other than it’s my favorite country and I feel peaceful there and the dtv course is a cool course ?
MotivatedParrot6489 Explain your likeness of Thailand and the reason for doing the course. Focus on continuing the course long term so they see reason to give you the 5-year DTV and not the shorter 6 mth METV.
I can take good care of my health in Thailand with massages and I have been going for years I feel familiar with culture and food and I feel peaceful there - also my course is a one year course not a 6 month one so that should be good right?
