What are the current appointment wait times at the Thai consulate in Ho Chi Minh City, and can I appeal for an emergency appointment?

I made a large mistake by booking flights etc to Ho Chi Minh before finding out that they were a Online appointment Embassy. I (was) due to fly out March 1, for visit Embassy March 2. (due to expiring NON b, and internal renewal hiccups)

Q1. It says next available appointment is 29th March, basically 1 month away, does that seem credible that there are now 1 month waits for HCMC Embassy?

q2. Anyone had any success in politely appealing the online process and asking for an 'emergency' appointment ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is facing a significant delay in securing an appointment at the Thai consulate in Ho Chi Minh City, with the next available slot not until March 29. They express concern over the lengthy wait and seek information on whether it’s typical for appointments to be booked out for a month. Additionally, they inquire about the possibility of appealing for an emergency appointment. Responses from community members indicate that current availability is indeed limited, with one user confirming there are no openings until late March.

Okay I just called the thai consulate in HCMC and spoke to an officer there. They immediately said there were NO openings at all until Mar 29 for visa applications.

So it's NOT a glitch it's booked out that long, OR at least that's what they said.

ATTN MEMBERS: This post is ONLY about the thai consulate in HCMC

and I only want to hear from people who went there without an appointment AFTER the covid sh*t show ended (and they had mandatory appt booking) but who got served there anyway..

I checked Vientiane <- a far busier consulate and they have appointments tomorrow and even Hanoi has openings on the 28th of Feb.

It HAS to be a glitch,

because no matter what service you select ALL of them (even the thingz thaiz do at HCMC) show no openings until March 29 😮

There sure isn't thousands of thaiz needing to do stuff in HCMC that would clog that system coincidentally until the exact same day foreigners could apply for visas to thailand 🙁

If I were you, I'd chance it and fly over (seeing as you have a ticket already),

worst case they don't let you in the gate and you come back on a visa exempt entry and make a plan to go try again either their with an appt or at a walk up consulate (Savannakhet Lao or Kota Bharu or Penang Malaysia)
