I wanted to flag a possible issue with the Thai embassy in Vientiane regarding email notifications. I submitted my DTV application and did not receive any email updates. However, when I checked the portal, it showed "Request for Interview."
Some of my friends have had similar experiences. When I visited the embassy, they told me to wait for an email - but no emails ever arrived. For example, a few friends who applied for a TR visa never received any emails either, but when they checked the portal, they found that their visa had already been approved and they were able to download it directly.
It seems that several people applying for DTV visas in Vientiane are facing this issue. I’m wondering if any of you have experienced the same.
Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
Concern has been raised about issues with email notifications from the Thai embassy in Vientiane for DTV visa applications. The original poster and several friends reported not receiving updates despite their applications indicating a 'Request for Interview' on the portal. Responses from the community suggest checking spam folders, ensuring correct email addresses are on file, and frequently checking the portal for updates, as some individuals found their visas approved without receiving emails.
Same thing happened to me! However I did actually get an email requesting additional documents but when it got approved I did not get the email. Just downloaded it straight from the portal. Just make sure to check the portal regularly
I checked emails everywhere but didn't see any. Could u pls tell me the webiste for checking interview time? I checked the portal, and there's no time shown. 🙏
Try to find the email with the interview invitation as soon as possible. The interview is usually held the next day to ensure you are in Laos. If you don't show up for the interview, your application is very likely to be rejected. You may have provided an incorrect email address. If you can't find the email, just go to the consulate tomorrow morning and ask for the appointment. You may be able to schedule it just after lunch.
I visited the embassy today, and they kept telling me to wait for email. It has been 3 days that i have received such an interview invitation through the portal already but no email received. Not just me ... some people i know already are also experiencing a similar situation. 😭
Okay, I get it. You probably have no choice but to wait. The email address must be correct because it is part of the registration process on the e-visa portal, so it is 100 percent correct, I just remembered.
