Soft Power DTV Visa Rejection – Need Help!

Hey everyone, I’m in Ho Chi Minh and recently applied for the Soft Power DTV visa. I submitted everything—500K+ THB in my account, a 3-month condo reservation, and all required docs.

Still, I got rejected two days ago. They asked for income proof, but here’s the issue:

🔹 I’m a stock trader making ~$1,500/month.

🔹 I closed all my old accounts, so I have no past records.

🔹 My country doesn’t tax stock profits, so I can’t provide tax documents.

I’m worried this could lead to a final rejection. Anyone faced this before? Any advice?

Thanks, friends! 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user in Ho Chi Minh shared their experience of having their Soft Power DTV visa application rejected due to a lack of income proof. They provided sufficient bank balance and documentation but were questioned about their income as a stock trader, leading to concerns about another rejection. Community members discussed the necessity of income documentation, with some suggesting providing profit and loss statements from their trading accounts, while others mentioned that the DTV visa typically does not require income proof. Various suggestions were made about accessing financial statements and alternatives for substantiating their income.

What country are you in that you don't have to file your taxes? very strange, you're making an income so normally you'd still have to pay for social security.

Probably smelt the BS when you said ‘ I am a stock trader making $1500 p/m ‘.

Even when you apply for soft power and need 500k in bank it's getting common for Embassy's to ask for proof of income or show additional funds to support your stay in Thailand

Makes no sense. There is no income requirement for DTV.

unfortunately (T.i.T) This Is Thailand and each of the embassy / consulates makes there own rules or adaptations of the official Thai Government guide lines...

That's why people pick and choose which country to submit there application etc...

It's very annoying that's theres No Uniform policy they all stick too...

I even had to have an interview back In September...

They have checkboxes to tick, so you will have to find ways to proof you have regular incoming fund.

More and more embassies ask to see it. They want to make sure you can survive, don't work in Thailand or conduct any illegal activity.

Can you not show the profit and loss statement. Your brokerage should have this data.

Banks will let you log in to get past statements. If not, a visit to the branch will.
