Can I apply for a DTV visa in person at a Thai embassy?

Can you still do the DTV visa application in person at an embassy? The way the website denies the visa without any explanation or chance to fix is very annoying. They don’t reply to emails and give no hint as to why the visa was rejected. Seems like doing it in person would be way better and informative, especially for people who have to try multiple times.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A DTV visa application can no longer be done in person at Thai embassies, as all applications must now be submitted electronically through the e-visa website. Many users express frustration over the lack of communication regarding visa rejections, citing issues like unclear requirements for documentation such as bank statements. Some users suggest that getting help from an agency may help clarify specific application issues.

I would look into getting help from an agency. They may at least be able to tell you what you are doing wrong.

Eric Davis wrong, I absolutely do qualify. It’s just a matter of figuring out how to satisfy the hoops they want me to jump through. They asked for 6 months of bank records. I did not have 500k sitting in the bank for 6 months as I have my money in stocks and gold like a financially literate person, all easily turned liquid at any moment. I had the money in the bank account but not for 6 months. Do I need it there for 6 months? I don’t know because they have zero communication and there was no indication beforehand that I needed to park the funds there for that long. But maybe that wasn’t even the issue, I have no idea.

Clay Gard yeah they will give you details about how to apply so that you get your birth right visa. Tell me which consulate does that?

Clay so…..you don’t qualify? FYI, you can show proof of funds if you have the available limits on your credit cards or savings.

Ron Longoz so you need to leave 500k baht in an account for 6 months now before being eligible? They asked for records they didn’t say that parking funds for that long was required. Where is that stated?

Gary Colclough everything I saw on this forum and online said 3 months. So now it’s 6 months. Or is it 12 months? Funny way to say “you don’t qualify” when it’s ambiguous not to mention financially awful. Who parks cash for 6 months while golds up 35% in the last 3 but anyway.

Gary Colclough every Embassy/Consulate sets their own requirements so for the 500k it can be at the time of application, for 3 months or whatever

All visas are done electronically. However, even when they were done in person, the person who would hand you back your passport/results would not have any idea why a decision was made. In Cambodia it was Cambodia staff at the counters and they were nowhere near the decision making process

Every visa application must be made online now. You likely wouldn't even get in the door of many consulates
