What happens if I get refused entry to Thailand after a history of tourist visa use, and how long until I can return?

After being taken aside and questioned about my tourist visa/visa exemption history at Suvarnabhumi recently, I'm a bit concerned I won't be allowed entry next time.

I will be going to Vientiane, taking all the proofs etc and cross my fingers. My question is, IF I get refused entry, what is the timescale until I can come back again?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Concerns about being refused entry into Thailand due to a history of frequent tourist visa use were raised. Commenters discussed the importance of having an appropriate visa for long-term stays, mentioning experiences of being questioned at the border and the risk of entry refusal. They indicated there isn't an officially defined timescale for returning after a refusal, but responses varied based on individual experiences, suggesting possible entry restrictions depending on the type of border crossing.

And this topic is going into the same discussion I scrolled down and I found: a Tourist Visa is ment for people coming into Thailand for their holiday. They are not ment to live inside Thailand using back to back Visa. This discussion can go on and on, but nothing new would be added. If you want to live inside Thailand get visa for the purpose you stay here. Tourist Visa for short visit, ED Visa to study at a school, Thai Elite Visa for being a long term tourist, Non Immigrant visa for those who can meet the requirements of being over 50 years of age, married to a Thai National, raising half Thai Children, working etc. I close the commenting and wish you all a good stay inside Thailand and happy life.

I got grilled last time I entered before the last realised I had a 60 day visa. She mentioned I need to stay out of the country for three months. I have been here three years, two work permits, one education visa and the rest tourist.

There is no time scale.

It depends on where you try to enter. If on an airport you will be sent back to where you came from or back home country. If on land border than it depends on how the neighbor country Immigration is going to deal with this.

Only 2 visa exempt border crossings are permitted, per person, per year.
