TLDR : Answer Summary
A user reported being refused entry at Don Muang Airport while holding a 6-month tourist visa. Several commenters inquired about the reasons for denial and suggested options such as waiting to see what happens, flying back to the departure country, or trying a land border entry. There were discussions about the importance of having the correct visa, particularly the Non-Immigrant O visa for long-term stays, and acknowledgment of the difficulties faced after a denial of entry, emphasizing that it might be better to apply for appropriate visas in advance.

And it is more than clear that the tourist visa is not the way to live or spend long times in Thailand. Unfortunately people seems to keep on going until the moment is there and they sit in detention. There is not much to add than have a good flight to where ever they sent you and open a new topic if you like to enter Thailand again, Good luck

Avoid Bangkok airports. Buy a ticket to Vientiane and see if they will let you fly out on it. Try to cross overland on your tourist visa.

Sorry, but he is already in Bangkok, refused entry and in the detention area. Avoiding Bkk is a little to late. The detention area is not like the hotel where you can walk out and in when ever you like and go shopping when ever you want.

Hi John Chesney very sorry to hear about your troubles. unfortunately the new crackdown on people spending a lot of time here in Tourist visas has meant that the only way to really stay here long term is to apply for a non O visa if you meet the requirements. if that is not an option then there is always the Elite visa option for 500k. The other option for you right now would be to try and come back into Thailand through a land border with you current visa.... best of luck!

Naa.
Once they denies you, it's not easy to come in.
You can apeel, and it might work out.
Not much more that you can do.

I don't know why you just go somewhere else in Asia which easier coz if I wasn't married I would be out in a shot

You do have a point...There are a fair few options out there right now for people

Well from what I have read clearly he thinks that you are on the wrong Visa. Best to get on the the correct Visa especially if you traveling in and out and for long periods of time. The old days are gone when you can do Visa runs to other countries. Beat to get the Visa that suits your needs. This is never a happy ending but you can make it right by getting the correct Visa. Sorry mate hope you come right
I thought this visa would be correct for my length of stay but obviously this guy doesn’t agree

Two options, wait and see what happen, fly where they send you, or back to place of departure or back home country. You may try again to enter using a land border like Vientiane-Nong Khai or Savannakhet-Mukdahan. Or option 2, file an appeal, you would stay in detention for about 4 to 5 days to get the results of this appeal.
my friend filed an appeal. Got denied and got sent back. Not worth the immi ‘wait area’.

It is stamped inside your passport and in the database

You need the visa that fits the lenght and purpose of your stay inside Thailand. If you married to a Thai National, over 50 years of age, do volunteer work as examples it could be the Non Immigrant O visa
This is my 2nd 6 month tourist visa I’m not old enough for a retirement visa. He say this is not a guarantee of entry

I see you came from Vietnam. You cannot go back there with no visa if you have done a visa free entry there recently. They won't accept you. They may force you back to your passport country, once you've paid for the ticket. It's up to them. For sure, they won't let you go anywhere you require a visa.

Did they tell you why you were refused? What was the reason? What country is your passport?

if you live in thailand so much, it was more wise to enter thailand by land this time. (go from HCMC to cambodia, to thailand, all by land).
he say I stay here more than I stay in my home country. My passport is English

Where did you fly in from as that is likely to be where they will send you back too. Nothing can be done. It is now up to the airline that brought you here.
