What should I do about multiple document requests for my DTV visa application in Vietnam before my visa expires?

EDIT: I got approved ✅

Hello, I’m looking for some advice on my DTV application through HCMC.

I’ve been asked for documents three times now. The latest request just says “Other request documents: Attach documents again. HIGHLIGHT ALL INCOME amounts you received in the bank statement you provided.” I did highlight my income last time but I think the officer got confused. I submitted official Jan and Feb statements plus an unofficial web printout for March and there was overlapping data between them. My bank only publishes statements once a month at the end.

Now I’m debating whether to resubmit now with the overlap removed and everything clearly highlighted a second time with notes explaining each credit to my account, or waiting 2-3 days for my official March statement so I can submit three clean official documents together and highlighted so there is no overlap. Problem is my Vietnam visa expires April 4th so I’m feeling the pressure.

Has anyone dealt with a third document request like this? Would you guys recommend I wait for the official March statement and submit that? Is it possible to leave Vietnam and come back so they can issue it to me? I heard I need to be in Vietnam when they issue me the visa so I was considering doing a border run and waiting it out. The one issue I have is I already booked an Airbnb in Thailand so I’d have to swallow both the cost of the flat and the visa run. Is it possible to go somewhere else and wait for the visa before flying into Thailand or will they ask a third time for where I am?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is facing pressure regarding their DTV visa application due to multiple requests for documents from the Thai consulate in HCMC. They are considering whether to resubmit their documents now or wait for an official bank statement for March to avoid confusion. The user's Vietnam visa is set to expire soon, creating urgency. They seek advice from the community about handling the document submissions and managing their status in Vietnam.

You made a very wrong decision applying with Thai consulate HCMC. If you'd applied with Thai embassy in Hanoi, these will not be requested and you'd have received DTV visa already 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Why are you asking here you do what you want try asking the embassy. Sounds like you didnt research in here prior to you application do you documents are all over the place. You need to give the embassy what the application requires no more no less. You obviously haven't supplied the correct documents originally or the first or second time as requested. Its pretty simple you will get a specific request as show here by previous applications that have been requested more documents. You never did this just typed in what you think they are asking for. You must be specific if you don't know contact the embassy. Don't give them just stuff. You booked the accomodation and flights again if you did your research the advise is not to until the dtv is issued. Stop whining give the embassy the correct documents and you will be approved. Or go to another embassy but it sounds like you will try shortcuts wherever you go.

What do you mean by statement can be no more than 30 days old? Everything before Feb will be 30 days old.

They will want to see 3 actual bank statements, not 2 plus something you have made yourself. Use the last 3 months available to you from your bank. And remain in the country until your application completes, they can check you remain

“Other request documents: Attach documents again. HIGHLIGHT ALL INCOME amounts you received in the bank statement you provided.”

This is what it says, which I did but like I explained maybe the overlap confused them or idk maybe their pdf reader didn’t see the highlights?

Well they accepted what I made though, they emailed me back about “highlighting all income” like I said in the post, it was perhaps confusing what I assembled but they didn’t ask for 3 official statements.

🙏🙏🙏 that you get the DTV visa before April 4th. It's strange indeed that you have been asked for added documents 3 times. That's most unusual. BUT the good news is that your application is still alive and under consideration. Please update us when you get the DTV Visa decision. Good Luck 🍀

You should hopefully be able to request a statement to be issued from your bank that'll go from the last statement to the date you call. That way you have an official statement.

Depending on when the system actions these (my bank has midnight process runs) it'll be available afterwards.

Doing a PDF combine is best if it's multiple documents, in chronological order, then highlighting the specific lines. Make sure to close and reopen as sometimes the highlight doesn't save and you have to print to PDF to get a version that retains the highlighter.

Edit: I'd also ask what statement issue options your bank has, mine has anything from daily to quarterly, some depend on the account type/structure.

mine just issues their own statement once a month. I could maybe go into a branch in person and get something else but I’m not physically there. It’s an older credit union bank so there aren’t a lot of member services.

Ah that sucks, yeah do the 3 previous month's worth of statements then the print out with a note - you may have to do this in a word document and print that to PDF and then combine it into the final document - stating that your bank only issues end of the month with no other options with the next one due to issue only at the end of March and not before then, and that you've uploaded 3 months worth Dec Jan and Feb.

That way you're covering bases and explaining why you can only provide these ones. With the highlight of course.

You are asked the last three months and you provide the last 2 months from the bank and a self made march.

Why not the last three months, Feb, Jan and last year Dec.

Yes you can cancel and go elsewhere to try again, I will advice to stop booking all kind of other things until you have the visa.

Combine all the statements into one PDF along with a very brief cover letter explaining the partial month statement and that you chose to send it along rather than risk overstaying your visa by waiting a week for your regular monthly statement. Highlight income as requested
