Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some advice before submitting my DTV application to make sure I don't get hit with a rejection.
My situation:
* Nationality/Residency: I am a UK citizen, but I have been living legally in Portugal for the last five years.
* Current Location: I am currently back in the UK visiting family for the next month.
* The Dilemma: Am I better off applying right now to the London Embassy while I'm physically here, or should I wait until I return to Portugal and apply via Lisbon?
My documents are heavily tied to the UK, which makes me think London might be smoother:
1. Financials: My 500k THB funds are held in a UK bank account in GBP. The statement address is that of my mothers where I am currently staying.
2. Work: My company is UK-based, and I jointly own it with another director, so all my corporate/remote work proof is in English and issued in the UK.
Is there any reason why I shouldn't apply from the UK in this instance? Will the London Embassy reject me because my long-term residency is in Portugal, or will they approve it since I am a UK citizen physically present in the country with local UK documents and a UK address?
Would love to hear from any UK citizens living abroad who successfully applied while back "home" on a visit!
Thanks in advance.
