What should I do if my DTV workcation application is still pending and my current Vietnam visa is about to expire?

Hi all, was hoping someone could advise regarding applying for DTV workcation through HCMC Consulate

I initially applied on the 12th of May and recieved a request for additional docs and proof of my stay in Vietnam on the 25th of May which I provided on the same day. Since then it has been on Pending Approval. 

My main concern at the moment is that the process may extend past my current Visa in Vietnam and I'm worried that my end date for the visa (26th June) will come and I will have to leave the country.

I also only had a hotel booked until the 31st and yesterday I extended the stay for another two weeks, could this pose an issue? If possible, I'd like to provide the embassay with proof of extending my stay but I don't see an option for this on the Visa website.

From what I understand, you must stay in the city the entire duration but what options are available if the process takes longer?

For reference I am British Citizen so if anyone has info on possibly extending my Vietnam visa until this is sorted, I'd greatly appreciate it

You can visit other areas of Vietnam. If asked for an interview, return to HCMC. When you resubmit docs the approval time is reset to 0. No probs with you extending your hotel stay. Others are facing similar delays in approval from Vietnam. 2 Thai National hols next week June 1, 3 will delay approvals. Hopefully you are approved soon.

if they asked me proof of current location again and now I’m in mui ne, is that a problem? Or mui ne is still part of the same jurisdiction as HCMC??

As long as you are in Vietnam you are ok for further proof of location. Mui ne is covered by HCMC.
