What should I consider when reapplying for a visa from Laos after a previous rejection due to insufficient bank statements?

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice and experiences 🙏

My visa application was rejected in December due to insufficient bank statements (I could only provide 1 month at that time). I’m planning to reapply in February and will have 3 months of bank transactions by then.

I’m currently living in Thailand, working remotely for a Singapore-based company, and I’m 6 months pregnant, so my time and travel options are quite limited.

Has anyone applied from Laos in a similar situation (remote work, reapplication after rejection)? Is it okay to reapply with the same employment contract, and are there any extra documents you’d recommend?

I’m feeling a bit anxious after the rejection, so any advice or shared experience would really mean a lot. Thank you so much 💙

Just a question to Those who got rejected:

Did you loose your Applications fee or do you get that back?

Why should they give back the fee? They processed your application.

i know but some people here seem to get rejected in a regular basis. In this case it would make more Sense just to buy the 5y Elite Visa and then you don’t even have to worry about borderruns and the costs that come with this

I agree with that, the elite visa is more expensive, but much better, certainly when you have the money and have difficulty to comply with DTV requirements.

Visa approval is not exact science, it is difficult to find out why people are rejected, and just as in almost all countries they don't have to give a reason or refund.

When they THINK you are not the person they want to see for a visa, they can just reject, even when you comply to requirements.

For elite it is much more simple, you just BUY your entry.

I had exactly your situation (except for the pregnancy part!). Rejected in Washington, DC, because I could only show 2, not 3 months of 500,000 baht. Once I had the three months, I went to Vientiane, Laos and was approved within a week for workcation (I’m a freelancer). Search this group for Vientiane, Laos, and you’ll find my original post with details about what I included, plus lots of other helpful posts.

you actually have to have/show $15,000 in saving to get a visa

Be careful as you are currently working in Thailand illegally. I'd keep that quiet.

I would use an agency who can often work around things like the bank balance, I used Borderless Setup
