Hi everyone, I am currently in Thailand with an OA visa extension, multi-entry, valid until 1st October 2022 (based on retirement). I always keep my K bank account with over 800K baht per principle. I will soon exit Thailand for 2 months and be back in Thailand on 18 September 2022. Before leaving, I will get my reentry permit. Before reentering Thailand, I will renew my health insurance, up to 1st October 2023. Question: Am I forgetting something? Thanks Andre.

Is there a possibility of getting stamped for one year on my arrival back to Thailand?
Robert *******
NO, if you are on an Extension of Stay and use a re-entry permit you will get stamped in to the same date as your permitted up to xx/xx/xx already in the passport.

Alternative: Leave without a Re-entry permit and start all over again with buying a NEW Non Immigrant O-A visa before you make your way into Thailand.

Based on the data provided you will be stamped in until 1 Oct 2022 and have than 2 weeks to apply for a new 1 year Extension of Stay as insurance is already in place.

Hope your tickets are good and your passport has enough validity, safe travels.

my health insurance is with Aetna Thailand with a bigger coverage than requested. So, the health insurance should not be an issue.

alright, AETNA Thailand is a tgia-listed insurer. You should be fine as long a the coverage is the required 3 million Thai Baht

in case you are already past the second year of an old OA visa, and already in Thailand with an extension of stay, for another application for the next extension of stay until 1st October 2023, the insurance must be one of the 18 tgia-listed Thai private insurance companies. A foreign based insurance will not be accepted

I was hoping that on arrival back to Thailand, I would be stamped until 18 September 2023. It cannot be the case?

@Andre *******
it depends, are you still within the first year of the OA visa, or are you already in the second year after the expiry of the original visa, or are you already in Thailand on an extension of stay you received for an old Non-Imm-O/A visa?

I am on my first extension of stay of an OA visa. I entered Thailand in December 2019.

No, you are already in Thailand using the Extension of Stay and not longer your Non Immigrant O-A visa.
