My friend (US passport) , here on non O retirement extension has lost his passport!! New passport will arrive any day. He has photocopies of his visa and extension pages from his old passport.
What will he need to do when his new passport arrives? Any problems he might encounter at immigration? ( Nonthaburi)

TLDR : Answer Summary
A US citizen in Thailand with a Non-O retirement extension who has lost their passport should obtain a police report regarding the lost passport. Once the new passport arrives, they will need to provide this report along with a letter from the embassy to the Royal Thai Police to explain the situation. The original visa and extension details should be transferable to the new passport without additional charges, although they may need to pay for a re-entry permit if it was issued in the old passport.

Original visa information and extension information will be transferred free. Probably he will need to pay for reentry permit again if he had one in old passport - but I not sure about this and probably they will put new reentry stamp with the same number as old one to new passport...
