Hi there,
I’d love to ask for some advice about job options for my husband. He’s on a marriage visa and is trying to decide whether to find a remote job based in the US (most of those won’t allow him to stay in Thailand long-term), or look for work here in Thailand as a foreigner.
He has a master’s degree in biology from one of the UCs (University of California), but doesn’t have a teaching credential beyond TA experience. Would teaching biology at an international school be possible for him? We’re based in Korat.
Any advice or recommendations would be really appreciated! 🙏💛
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks advice on job options for her husband, who is on a marriage visa in Thailand. They consider whether he should pursue remote work with US companies or seek local employment, particularly in teaching. He holds a master's degree in biology but lacks formal teaching credentials. Responses suggest he can get a work permit through his marriage visa and highlight the possibility of teaching at international schools, which typically require qualified status. There are teaching job resources available, like ajarn.com and Facebook groups, but schools may vary in their requirements.
