Hello I want to ask if someone faced any issues with getting a re-entry permit while in bkk airport or do they normally always give it if u have all your documents ready?
Answer summary
Many expats have successfully obtained re-entry permits at Bangkok Airport when they have the necessary documents, such as a passport and a fee (around 1000-1200 baht). However, issues may arise if travelers are on certain visas (like tourist visas) or attending language schools, as immigration can be strict in those cases. Documentation about internships, study programs, or other legitimate reasons for staying in Thailand can support the application. It's generally advisable to have all required documents ready to facilitate the process.

The only reason they might not issue a re-entry permit is if you're only in Thailand as a tourist. Sometimes they do not want to issue if you ask (as it normally doesn't make sense).

I've also heard that Phuket will sometimes not allow multiple re-entry permits but will allow single.

Is it for university, or is it for language school/muay Thai? If it's from a university you should be fine. But if it's from a language school, you should NEVER leave Thailand while studying at a language school. Immigration does not like kindly on people who said they needed to study so badly inside of Thailand that they need a visa to study, and then those same people leave Thailand. Many reports of people denied entry even with tons of supporting documents and the immigration officers calling their school and talking to the administrator.
