Does anyone here actually know the internal process of the DTV application?
Once received by the embassy, does that particular embassy review all the documents and then chase everything up.
And then does that embassy then give final approval? Or does it get sent to Bangkok head office for approval?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The DTV application process generally involves local approval by the Thai embassy where the application is submitted. Most cases are approved locally unless there are issues with the passport, such as derogatory history. Some applications, particularly from certain passport holders like those from Pakistan, may require additional approval from the Bangkok head office. Embassies may also return applications to Thailand for clarification or additional documentation if needed.
It is approved locally on the vast majority of cases. The only ones heard of needing Bangkok approval so far is for Pakistan passport holders. I am sure it will be same for a few other passports too. That is exception rather than the rule.
