4/5 Weeks for DTV application from London embassy?!

Hi guys, after waiting ages, I managed to get through to the Thai embassy in London via phone call.

After asking a few questions about the Visa, I finished by asking how long processing would take expecting her to say a few days or a week or two tops.

But instead, she said it would be about 4-5 weeks! I wasn’t expecting that. I told her I’ve heard of people getting it within a few days online. But her answer didn’t change.

They will always give their formal stance on this.

I was in Vientiane, Laos for a regular Non-O application last week, they said 5-10 days and was quite adamant about it.

I got it at 5pm the day after I submitted my documentation and paid.

The idea is probably that if it does take a long time, people are prepared for it and won't get angry that they were told a shorter time.

If it doesn't take a long time, people will be pleasantly surprised because they were told it would be longer.

I believe that is their formal stance, which probably is the same as what is written on their website. In reality, it might be much quicker.

The last time we applied for a client in Thai embassy in London was April and it took 2 weeks then get the visa.

Maybe due to more applications now time can stretch... or maybe she is giving the flexibility to the system so you won't annoy them hy calling or coming every 3 days... so if you got the visa before time she said, . You will feel super happy... and if delay then ( you have been informed)
