What is the typical cost for a retirement visa in Thailand, and is 50,000 THB a reasonable fee to pay for an agent?

Hello everyone,

I want to get a retirement visa and use an agent.

An agent recommended by a friend has quoted me 50,000thb for a 15 month, multiple entry visa.

It's seems a lot, does anyone have any idea if this is a normal fee?

It's my first one and I have a Thai bank account and an EU passport.

Thank you.
Answer summary
The initial query concerns the fee of 50,000 THB for a retirement visa handled by an agent, which many respondents consider excessive. Typical fees for such services range from 25,000 to 35,000 THB. Several users suggest that it is possible to manage the process independently if the necessary funds are already in a Thai bank account, stating that applicants are generally charged mainly for the convenience of using an agent. The conversation emphasizes the importance of comparing prices and shopping around, along with a few humorous anecdotes about the complexities of navigating Thai immigration.

That is good price if it’s your 1st time, have no money nor a bank account. Many are higher, don’t think you will find one lower. I asked the agent I use and he said 58,000.

If you have a Thai bank account- how did you open it without a Long term Visa ?

Hopefully it’s not Bangkok bank

Do you already have the 800K in it for a minimum of 2 months ?

Agent using their money should be about 30K for the first year + the 90 day initial Non-O - so yes = 15 months
