What is the Smart Visa and what are its requirements?
Hello group and thanks for adding. Does anyone have any info about the upcoming Smart Visa other than what was released few weeks ago?
Answer summary
The Smart Visa is designed for experts and investors working in Thailand's Eastern Economic Corridor projects, with specific categories outlined for eligibility. While initial information was released, the detailed visa requirements have not yet been published, with an expectation of publication in December 2017. There is some confusion about its designation as a 'digital nomad' visa, as it has limited applicability to certain professions. Discussions also touch upon related visa options, such as the Thai Elite Card Visa.

....and if you have the funds and wish to remain here without meeting the requirements that other visas stipulate, you might consider the Thailand Elite visa program. ******************

Without knowing you well, I would suggest if you wanted to remain in Thailand for the long term, learning Thai with an ED visa would be a good start.Жанна ************

good news... this what I’m trying to gather - what are those easy options.Robert ********
I have found Thailand to be one of the easiest countries in which to reside for the long term. The visa requirements are very straight forward. Certain options might be costly, but still easy to understand.

If you use the services of a licensed Bangkok based private investment advisor, they can assist assist in your acquiring this visa, or so I have been told.

Correct, the other part is investors..

that is one group of people that will qualify.

This outlines what categories that visa will be available for. I think the inter-web was ahead of itself when they called it a "digital nomad" visa because it's going to be limited to people in certain trades only.

That's it......Does that have airline miles on it?Tod *********
@Ro***
, at this time no airline offers a visa for thailand :/ You might be confused over the Thai Elite Card Visa that has an option for 10 years.
Rocky ***************
It's through one of the airlines. If you pay a certain amount it's 10 years multiple entries.
