TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain a 1-year visa in Thailand, first determine the purpose of your stay, such as studying, working, or being a spouse of a Thai citizen. Common options mentioned include the Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) or Education Visa (ED). It's essential to check with the Thai Immigration office or consult local visa centers for detailed requirements. Sign up for language courses may take up to 4 months and cost around 30,000 THB plus extension fees. Additionally, reading about visa options on Thai Embassy websites is recommended.

Yess u can , many ppls have real visa optained by illegals ways. U just dont ask at the right place.

Its thailand if u have the money u can have whatever u want. My suggestion; ask elsewhere. U might find someone abble to help you whit that.

Again, many many ppls just pay the price and get visa and stamps.

Just have to ask at the right place . Not on fb where all thoses travellers follow the rules and laws. Just a tip

Good luck

How are ppl arriving without knowledge of the available visas? Before I moved from America, that was the 1st thing I researched…not trying to be mean but it seems odd to relocate somewhere without researching the most important things

exactly. People just decide they want to live in Thailand without even checking with the Embassy to see what they qualify for.

DTV, I know quite a few people that have already gotten it. It's honestly too good to be true.

There’s no 1 year visa for just wanting to stay in Bangkok. Visas are attached to purpose of stay, so there has to be a visa aligned with your purpose and you have to meet the requirements.

is there a pinned post or list in this group with all the visa types, purpose of stay, length of stay, and requirements? If not, I think it might be helpful so there aren’t a fuck ton of daily repetitive questions.

Stuart wrote a long post about the visa types. I believe it's still pinned.

In depends on age, job? etc.

A visa for learning Thai? A visa for the spouse of a Thai citizen? A digital nomad (DTV) visa? Difficult to answer without knowing the basics of your situation.
