Hello all. Could anyone please confirm what the background colour of the photo for a visa extension needs to be? Can it be blue/light blue?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The required background color for a photo for a Thailand visa extension is generally white. While some offices may not strictly enforce this rule and allow light blue backgrounds, many users confirmed that a white or cream background is preferred. It's suggested to get the photo taken at a professional shop or at the immigration office to avoid any issues.

OH ok...should be ok if it's light background just use it.....worst scenario if they dont accept take new ones there's always a photo shop in the immigration offices and ask the officer could u jump the queue and go to him/her with the old queue number after u have taken new photos....I once have missing maps and the lady let me go to her with the old queue numbers cheers

Usually blue background photos are typically used for work permits.

I only know specifics for the Phuket office. They don’t care about background.

Way back when a photo was actually issued on a residence certificate they wouldn’t accept a blue background. Now that a photo is still required but not actually put on the certificate they don’t care.

For many offices they won’t care, but some may be pedantic and want a white or cream background.
