Hi everyone,

I got to Vietnam (HCMC) on Monday and submitted my application around 10am and haven’t heard anything back yet- I know it’s probably too early to hear anything (I’m just nervous lol) but my plan was to leave next Thursday night to go back to Thailand and I’m just wondering if that’s enough time? I’ve seen a few people say it took longer in HCMC than they thought so when should I start worrying?😂

I hold a uk passport and I’m applying for workcation if that makes a difference!☺️

Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The questioner is anxious about the processing time for their workcation visa application submitted in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), Vietnam, especially with a planned departure back to Thailand. Community responses indicate that it typically takes around 5 business days for visa processing in HCMC, with delays possible due to public holidays (recently on December 10). Some users have shared their own experiences, noting that additional document requests can extend the process but also suggest remaining hopeful for a quick response.

I actually had an email today at 16:18 requesting further documents - they asked for the financial evidence again so fingers crossed that’s all the extra documents they want from me!🤞🏻

i submitted sat morning - hcm. Tuesday was a public holiday. We're on day 3. Latest reports I saw on this page were 3 days and 5 days for hcm. Mine changed to pending approval this morning but not finished yet and no email. My feeling is 5 full days max going by other reports here. Unless they ask for extra stuff

Atleast you are there waiting..for us here we need to fly to HCM tomorrow after a 20hr layover here in Bkk but no evisa insight yet..hoping tomorrow before our flight we get it..

mine took 6 days. came through 2 hrs before the flight which I had already cancelled at that stage. Be prepared for long queue in saigon btw. It's like suvarnabhumi queue 15 years ago

whew! Arrived in Bkk about 11pm and thankfully processing done so evisa is granted..atleast we don't have to cancel our flight tomorrow..

As an aside, it’s worth considering paying for fast track immigration services in HCMC. the queues can be LONG

Dec 10 was a national holiday so that adds a day extra. Likely get the Ok early next week

On average it takes 5 business days for HCMC. Usually that is on top of the date of submission. Also, Tuesday was a holiday. You will probably get your visa on Tuesday, if no additional requests.

okay thank you, that’s what I thought. If they do request additional documents though will I have to prepare to extend my stay?

- Not completely clear. Don’t stress about it yet though, as they have not asked for additional docs
