Hello

I intend to apply for a single entry, non-immigrant 'O' visa based on a Thai Child from the Thai consulate in Penang at the end of this month. However, the website says:

"In most cases, the visas can be collected on the third working day after the submission date from 15.00 to 16.00 hrs."

Is it really 3 days? 

Obviously, if it is, I'll go elsewhere but I'd rather do Penang than Savannakhet. Also, I've heard too many horror stories about officials springing unexpected requirements on applicants at the last minute; with this in mind, are there any new financial requirements that I need to be aware of?

The notice on the RTC Penang FB page spells it out at the bottom for the benefit of people ( like me) who find the terminology confusing.

I have no idea about Penang but I just did this in Savanakhet. I got back 5am this morning. The crowd on the first day was terrible but thankfully they stayed open past 11 to get everyone to hand in documents. They also opened earlier than 2pm the next day for pick up. I was very happy to get it. I didn't need any financial proof.

You get the same single entry Non O Thai Visa as Father of a Thai child at Savannakhet ...And was granted 90 days STAMP on arrival. Thanks for your helpful reply ☺️

The processing time for Penang changed a good while ago for their visas,

Example; you turn in the application on Monday (counted as day 1) and you pick up the passport on Wednesday (which is the 3rd working day)
