TLDR : Answer Summary
The processing time for a 60-day tourist visa at the Thai consulate in Penang is typically around 2 to 3 days. While some users reported a quick turnaround of 2 days, others expressed caution, noting mixed feedback about the consulate's services. It is also mentioned that using an agent can simplify the process, helping with form checks and transportation.

is that a trick question like on a test?

In KL it was pick up the next day. That was right after New Years. I imagine it should be similar.

Took 2 days for a 90 day visa for me. Use one of the agents . They are really cheap and not only check your forms etc but taxi you to and from the consulate and retrieve your passport the next day so it's super cheap when you factor in the taxi fare.
this is the one I used . But there are several on the same street . They all look a bit sketchy on first appearance. This one looked less sketchy 😆 and did everything we needed . I can't remember the exact cost but I think it was equivalent to 1000 baht ISH 🤔

Shouldn't take more than 3 days. But I've seen negative comments previously about using the Penang consulate.

Have you looked at the requirements on their website?

OK, if you can't Google it here it is. Only you know your passport nationality so only you can find the correct answer to your question.
