TLDR : Answer Summary
You do not need to book an appointment to visit the Thai Consulate in Penang for a Non-O visa; just turn up. However, it is advised to arrive early as there is a daily limit of 100 applications processed. Bring all necessary documents and ensure you have at least two blank pages in your passport to avoid any issues. Many users have reported quick processing times when they were well-prepared.

I just did this last month. It was a easy. Take all your paper work. The taxi cab driver will wait for you. I was in and out in 20 minutes. As stated, you go back the next afternoon. In and out, 10 minutes.
