TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend a visa exemption in Thailand, visit the immigration office in your province. Applications can be made when you have 30 days or less remaining on your stay, or 45 days in larger offices like those in Bangkok or Chiang Mai. Bring a recent photo, your passport, copies of your passport and visa, and fill out an extension form, along with a fee of 1900 baht. Alternatively, you can leave Thailand temporarily and re-enter for a new visa exemption.

the TDAC isn't a visa and isn't stamped in your passport. It's just an online info card.

@Frankie ******
that's a lot more difficult than a simple extension at local immigration ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

That's NOT a practical solution..

I think the guy is Australian so cannot enter Vietnam without a visa BEFORE he travels and that take at least 4 to 5 working days and $25 US dollars to get not to mention cost of airfare and time...

Visa extension is only around $50 US dollars and a couple a hours

and risk being denied re-entry to Thailand having done a recent Visa Exempt stay

Go to the immigration office that serves the province you're staying in.

Most offices will let you apply when you have 30 days or less left on your stay.

Larger offices will let you apply when you have 45 days or less left (Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai)

A few only let you apply during the last week of your stamp (Pattaya, Koh Samui, Koh Phangna)

Here is a general list of requirements, but each office can set their own requirements.
