TLDR : Answer Summary
Bringing a Thai girlfriend to Australia for a holiday can be challenging due to strict visa regulations. The primary visa type for this situation is a visitor visa (subclass 600). Potential applicants must demonstrate strong ties to Thailand, such as employment, family, or property, to persuade Australian immigration authorities of their intent to return after the holiday. It's recommended to consider using a visa agent to navigate the complexities of the application process. Documentation, including an invitation letter, proof of finances, and a relationship history, will be crucial in making a strong case for the visa.

Don't wanna scare you but they cancelled my friend her visa 3 times already to the Netherlands!

She is a normal girl with a job. But they scared she will stay in the Netherlands..

Very very hard these days.

No I did not applied for her.

Try Tourists visa / write the letter you will support her everything. Write about your relationship with her. The profit if she has a property in Thailand. Show the doc to embassy. That she will be back to Thailand.

I been do tourists visa for 10 times and I passed all the time.

If it’s a bar girl it’s hard .

She will need many documents, bank details , work details , family , children , guarantee from you , invite from you ,

Visa , it goes on .

That’s why it’s easier for you to go to Thailand than her to come to Australia

I used a visa agent. A lot of paperwork required from both of you. They facilitate all of this.

Or you can get to Suvarnabhumi at check-in and be told Australia said NO to her going back to oz. Visa still current ( for 5mts)(one yr visa) and they want 4.5K from you to go to court and hear your case, they tell you nothing about why in a four page letter they sent and you get 71 days to do so or don't bother. Go Australia.

It's a 600 visa, you can do it yourself but better off with an agent. Where are you located?

It’s quite difficult for thais to get tourist visas in Australia

For some reason Australia seems to be anti Thai

For my daughters wedding they wouldn’t let her cousin and her Aunty come on a tourist visa

Even using an agent we only managed to get the cousin in on a sponsored visa

I would use an agent especially for the first visit

Todd Sleight the reasons is that Thailand exports a lot of sex workers and people willing to work illegally. If a Thai has a regular decent job then there's no issue to get a tourist visa. When a Thai without job and money tries to visit Australia cuz of her holiday boyfriend feels lonely back home then things turn very complicated.

Michael Bramieri yes but when you’re in mid 50s and have a daughter in university here which is not cheap it’s fucking ridiculous

Michael Bramieri it’s no excuse for Australia to label every Thai woman a prostitute unless proven otherwise

FFS even the immigration officer at Perth airport was trying to set up a date with my wife when she first entered

Todd Sleight well, as I said above, those immigration officers aren't stupid. If someone got a REAL decent job then it's no issue getting a Visa. I have several Thai friends who have traveled even more than I did and got 0 issues . The problem comes when someone wants to bring the holiday girlfriend back home, girlfriend that got no official job, no saving, no nothing. She 100% relies on someone met during his holiday. You're blaming your country for protecting the borders, that weird, come to Europe sometime and check with your eye what open borders have done

Seldom used, but if you are a Kiwi you can virtually automatically get her 6days in Oz as a transit on your way to/from NZ....it's a Subclass 771 transit visa. Just need travel insurance.

Document her employment and family ties especially children making sure to emphasise parents/ children dependency on her. Her desire to return for work. If that's established its usually straightforward

Family connections , property owned , financials , letter of invite declaring you’ll cover all her costs and reason for trip , also your bank statements showing you can pay for medical etc , letter from her work stating she has job to return to . You’ll need copies of family ID . Photos together with date stamp . As much info as you can supply .

I went through agent 30k baht . You can do yourself much cheaper . Embassy doesn’t do they outsource . I forget the name of the place in Bangkok but embassy website would have . Also you will need to use their recommended photo place in Bangkok as they are very particular about photos . They say not to do plane bookings but we did and showed return booking and health insurance
