TM.47 90 day reporting:

Is the next due date 90 days from when you do the reporting or 90 days from your last due date?

(I never previously considered it because I have been going to my branch Immigration office in Fang, Chiang Mai to report and they have always put the next due date on the receipt. I reported online this time and no due date for the next report was given.)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The next due date for 90-day reporting (TM.47) in Thailand is calculated as 90 days from the last successful report submission, not from the day you perform the reporting. It is essential to successfully complete the online reporting process, which involves waiting for an approval email that specifies the next due date. If there are complications with your application, such as discrepancies in TM30 accommodation notifications, you may need to resolve those before your TM.47 can be approved. The recommendation is to visit your local immigration office if issues arise when filing online.

Anyway glad it worked out, (y)

So, here's the unfortunate result:

"Your application for "STAYING LONGER THAN 90 DAYS" has been rejected.

Contact immigration to update the (TM30) accommodation notification to date. The last declaration of accommodation at DD Garden Home Phayao not Chiang Mai."

My wife and I went to Phayao for a couple days about 1 month ago and stayed at this hotel one night. I don't really understand why this is an issue since we have stayed other places outside of Chiangmai, where we live, many times before. Isn't TM30 totally separate from TM47 reporting?

Going to the immigration office tomorrow ...

@Brian ******
some Thai immigration offices ask you to file a TM30 when you travel and return to your home address.

It appears Chiang Mai is one of those offices.

PLEASE update us after you visit the Chiang Mai Thai Immigration office.

I just now went to the immigration office in Fang (Chiang Mai immigration office branch in the north of the province that mainly deals with folks from Myanmar) where I have been doing my TM.47 reporting in person for the last 4-5 years. The officer told me not to report online because there are sometimes problems and that I should come to their office for TM.47 reports. One minute later she gave me the TM.47 receipt - no questions asked - and did not ask for a TM.30 report.

BTW, the new due date is 90 days from my last due date - not 90 days from today.

Sadly
@Brian ******
she is not correct, šŸ˜•

there is no issue with the 90 day online program

it's just tied to the TM30 when they go to approve it and check the information you typed in

While you were there did you file a new TM30?

That would have put you back in the system at the address you really stay in

Also have no plans to move but, if I did, then I would certainly have a new TM.30 for my new residence.

@Brian ******
that's the only way you were going to get the TM30 system and the TM47 systems to match so you COULD apply online for your 90 day report instead of slogging to Fang OR C/M to file in person šŸ™ That's why I asked if you filed one šŸ˜‰

No. Is there a reason why I should have? The Fang office doesn't care. And I extended my visa for a year at the Chiang Mai office. Just received my 11 month stamp feom there at the end of December and I am sure at least one hotel did a TM.30 report last year before my visa was extended. It's been the same every time I extended my current visa (now on my 3rd extension) and I have been living at my wife's house the whole time.

Thank You for your Update.

@Brian ******
this happens more and more, you will have to file a new TM30

They cross check the TM30 registration when they look at the TM47 address you used and if they're different they'll deny it.

That's what I thought. My local branch immigration office (Fang) never did that so I think it's back to reporting in person from now on. šŸ™

@Brian ******
Or make a log in on the TM30 website or mobile app and re-file a TM30 every time you travel (especially if YOU show your passport to check into a hotel)

Now that I am thinking about it a bit more, I thought that 2 or 3 years ago the police changed TM30 reporting requirements such that a landlord/homeowner/etc. only needs to submit it once if it's the regular residence. Am I wrong?
Tod *********
@Brian ******
that is 100% up to your immigration office and what THEY do as far as TM30's
Pauline *******
Btw did you check your spam? My first email came through the normal folder but the approved email was in the spam folder

Good to know - thanks.

My due date is today so if I don't receive it by around Tuesday or Wednesday I'll check at the immigration office.

This is what you receive for online report. They state on it the date for next report
Kevin ***********
When you get the approval it will tell you. Eg:

"THIS IS NOT AN EXTENSION OF STAY PLEASE NOTIFY YOUR ADDRESS AGAIN ON : 2023-04-05 (UTC +7)"

as I said if it's approved you'll have the PDF of the new 90 day report receipt attached
Vernon *********
It's 90 days from when you do the successful report.
Tod *********
Remember online reporting is a TWO step process

you log in and file your 90 day report and you get the FIRST email saying you APPLIED to file a 90 day report online..

THEN YOU WAIT

until you get the SECOND email saying your 90 day report was approved (in which case it will have the PDF file you print out with the next 90 day report date on it)

OR

rejected in which case it usually says WHY they rejected it šŸ˜•

If I had to guess I'd say you just did filed the online report and got the confirmation email only

Thanks. Yes, I just filed it Wednesday.

I tried online once before and I somehow screwed it up so this is my first time.
