I'm happy to report that after being sent back to South Africa to apply for a non-immigrant B visa (teacher) I handed in all the documentation as listed in the Embassy website and collected my visa four days after submission. No fuss, no problems. Very professional and friendly service.

Good to know that (y)

What was the reason you were sent back to the thai consulate in S/A?

Did you have writing on a previous visa from there stating you had to go back there to get a visa?

you won't have any problems if your paperwork is in order. If you don't have a police clearance yet I suggest you download the form now and courier it to the SAPS CRC.

They are giving south africans a really hard time. I also am going back in a few weeks to get a visa.

yep, I was one of the unfortunate ones to have the note on my tourist visa instructing embassy officials to redirect me to South Africa.
