Hi All. I have a friend who is married to a Thai lady and living in Roi et. He has just got a 30 day visa and is looking to renew. I understood from previous posts that there was a way for him to get 3 month visa without showing any funds. Could you please remind me of the procedure? Many thanks.
TLDR : Answer Summary
A foreigner married to a Thai spouse, currently holding a 30-day visa, can extend their stay by applying for a 60-day Extension of Stay at their local Immigration office without needing to provide financial proof. This extension costs 1,900 THB. Alternatively, they can travel to Savannakhet or Ho Chi Minh City to apply for a 1-year Non-Immigrant Type O visa based on marriage, which also does not require financial documentation.
