If you enter Thailand on a 30-day visa exempt entry, you can typically extend your stay for another 30 days while in Thailand. However, due to the current land border closures, an extension beyond this requires a correct visa type upon entry into the country, such as the Single Entry Tourist Visa, which allows for 60 days plus a 30-day extension for a total of 90 days. The application fee for visa extensions remains at 1,900 THB. As of January 25, 2022, the possibility of further COVID-related extensions may not be available, and immigration policies may be stricter.
