How much of a lead time should I be prepared for when applying for the 60 days Covid Extension.? Reason I ask is because I still have a little over a month left on my stamp and I am hoping that the Covid Extension might be extended again on Jan 25 so that I can delay my application until later to maximize my stay. Thank you for your reply 🙏🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The lead time to apply for the 60 days Covid Extension is uncertain, as announcements regarding extensions are typically made close to the deadline. It's advisable to apply before the expiration date of your current visa, which in this case is January 25. Furthermore, the extension may be available until that date.

you can secure the covid extension up until jan 25. what city are u going to go to ? phuket?

We probably won’t know until a couple of days before if they’re going to extend the date. Typically they leave it until the last minute to announce.

krabi wants me to pay 1000 baht extra for the extension so now im going to samui which i hope will give it out the next day for no extra fee

my fear is that they might make travel insurance mandatory for the covid extensions beginning next time? just a thought

yes I figured that but if I decided to wait, am I cutting it too close by going on the 21st?

no. You can do it on the 25th, but not advised because you may need to get something you don’t have and go back, etc. Also many offices will be manic on that day.
