Hey Bangkok folks!

If I go to immigration 30 days early (Covid extension) will they extend 60 days from my last day, or 60 days from the date I go?

Thanks so much ๐Ÿ˜Š

TLDR : Answer Summary
The answer to whether a Covid extension will be issued for 60 days from the date of application or the expiration of the current visa depends on the specific situation. If you are switching from tourist status to a Covid extension, the extension takes effect from the date of application. However, if you are just extending an existing Covid extension, the additional time will be added to your current stamp. It's advised to check with the local immigration office as processes can vary significantly depending on the office and current workload.

I was under the impression immigration stopped giving Covid19 visa extensions. Am I incorrect? Reason for my response is on March 24th I got a 2 month extension and the immigration officer said this was the last Covid19 extension date and May 24th EVERYTHING goes back to normal.

, people still CAN apply for Covid extension until 24 May, and getting another Covid extension. Though, It depends on the immigration office and the immigration officer you will deal with if your application would be approved or not.

thank you. Apparently my immigration officer at that moment felt it was within her power to inform me of my situation in accordance to her point of view.

Believe it or not

she was correct at the time you got your covid extension ๐Ÿ˜ฎ The program you applied under ran until March 25th AND on the 24th the immigration offices didn't know yet IF it'd be extended another 2 months or not, SO her telling you this was the last one was pretty spot on given what she knew at the time.

In Bangkok you will get 60 days from the day you apply, at least it was like that the last times that I went there. Today I went there again and only got an under consideration stamp. Not sure if they are more strict for now or if the reason is, that I already had a covid extension.

As you are working as a DJ, why not get the correct visa and work permit?

If you are changing from a tourist visa or visa-exempt to a covid extension, it goes from the day you apply.

If you are getting a further covid extension on top of another one, it gets added to your stamp.

Depending on the office you use they will let you apply once you have less than 30 days remaining. However some are less than 15, 7 and 3 days respectively. So it depends on the office you use, and how busy they are.

Also bare in mind that you'll likely get an under consideration stamp first and then have to return two, three or four weeks later, again, dependent on your office.

My advice is (predictably) to speak with your local immigration office and ask what they would offer and how it would play out.

totally depends on IF you're on a covid extension NOW or just a regular extension AND what office you deal with . Why would you go 30 days early? the current covid program runs until May 24th

Iโ€™m on a covid extension now, Iโ€™m in Bangkok. I wanted to go early just in case they asked for additional documents like flight tickets.
