My dependent has applied via London embassy and we filled in the arrival date to be April 1st. He just got a request for further docs “Other request documents: - Rescheduled Flight Booking on future date if possible show your name, departure date, all flights en route from UK/Ireland/UK territories to Thailand. Recommend to plan at least 4-5 weeks in advance and booking can be refundable.”.

Wondered if this is because they don’t think it’s possible to be approved in less than 20 days now so a reschedule a nescessary? Any advice 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses a situation where a dependent's visa application for Thailand has prompted a request for a rescheduled flight booking. The original arrival date is April 1st, and the poster is concerned that the request indicates potential delays in processing. Comments suggest that the London embassy is slower than before, and dependents may be approved more quickly. It's advised to book a refundable flight and provide proof to meet the requirements, ensuring that they don't purchase a non-refundable ticket without visa approval.

I had to book a flight for my dependent to be accepted. The turn around was 24 hours once I did that but all depends doesn’t it. Could take longer. I literally booked and cancelled my flight because at moment who knows when I will get over 😂got the flight ticket and uploaded it. I had to write a letter too saying I understand I may need to change the ticket if not approved in time though too.

smart! i think we will do this too. We had both booked a 1st april flight (mine is approved, now waiting for my dependent's to). I guess they really don't think it can be approved in the next 20 days (he applied on the 1st of March btw). The current ticket is not refundable we got the cheapest one! We'll now book a refundable one and cancel it if it gets approved earlier, seems like the best option for us!

I booked a non refundable but then you have 24 hour cancellation. 😂I was literally sat there watching the clock but then I cancelled at an hour before the 24 hour mark and the visa accepted then late afternoon.

London does not approve as fast as it once did so they are just being cautious with the rescheduled flight advise. Not unusual for the request they have made.Likely approved before April 1st, dependents often approve faster than the main applicant.

thanks! This is helpful, just been wondering how to show a rescheduled flight as current is not change free. Looks like we might have to get a new flight?

You should never buy a non-refundable ticket before you get a visa approved. You could send them a new fully refundable ticket with a rescheduled date. If the visa is approved before the date of your first ticket you can fly with the first ticket and cancel the second refundable ticket. If you don't get the visa approved in time, then you can simply change the date of the first ticket for the fee, and cancel the second refundable ticket. But if you really want to know what they mean, first confirm do they actually want you to provide a rescheduled ticket or if they will still accept the first ticket.

Google "onward ticket" and you can get proof of a new ticket fairly easily.

Did you get a request for other docs aside from the flight reschedule request? It does say" if possible" reschedule the flight booking.

yep, this is the exact wording "Other request documents: - Rescheduled Flight Booking on future date if possible show your name, departure date, all flights en route from UK/Ireland/UK territories to Thailand. Recommend to plan at least 4-5 weeks in advance and booking can be refundable.". and asked for nothing else!

You need to pay a fee to change your current flight?? That will be cheaper than paying for a new flight I guess or just get a fully refundable flight and cancel it once approved.
