TLDR : Answer Summary
The deposit requirement for a Non-OA retirement visa in Thailand is 800,000 THB held in a bank account for the entire duration of the visa. This requirement applies to each individual; therefore, for a married couple both on Non-OA visas, they must have a total of at least 800,000 THB in their bank account, not 2 x 800,000 THB. Additionally, they will need to provide proof of insurance that meets the criteria set by Thai immigration.

I think he's saying he's here on a Non-OA visa and wants to extend inside Thailand. So 800k in bank is correct but he'll also need the Non-OA insurance. I don't know what the wife is on, is she on her own Non-OA currently?
