I hope you can answer this question I have as I've looked online but find the answers to be a little vague.
My wife and I are thinking of retirement in Thailand. We are both from South Africa. I understand that there has to be 800 000 baht in a Thai bank account, however is that per person or would that be okay for a married couple to secure a retirement visa?
Thank you so much for any advice.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A couple from South Africa is inquiring whether the requirement of having 800,000 baht in a Thai bank account for securing a retirement visa applies per person, or if it is sufficient for just one account for both spouses. Responses indicate that only one 800,000 baht is required in the name of one person, allowing the other spouse to apply as a trailing spouse.
