Answer summary
An expat shared a recent experience of renewing a UK passport at the Bangkok passport agency, noting a quick turnaround of just 2 weeks instead of the expected 6-8 weeks. Other commenters corroborated this with similar experiences, suggesting that the processing times may vary, especially due to factors like backlogs and reduced staffing. The conversation highlighted the importance of timely passport renewals, especially for expats whose visas are expiring soon.

I did my son’s passport and had it back in 11 days but they have to tell you 6 - 8 weeks to allow for peak times, reduced staff due to holidays, public & bank holidays etc.
